The recent update that stated 81% efficacy of Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin has hiked people’s confidence in the vaccine. This has led to an increase in the number of people showing up at Covid Vaccine Centres, which is a big relief to the nation.
But the second wave of corona is causing concerns as researchers have identified a new symptom- Covid tongue.
While the vaccination drive is expanding, the government is constantly encountering complaints in regard to the gaps in registration for Covid vaccine. Is that your pain point too? 1. Navigate to www.cowin.gov.in
2. Enter your valid mobile number and click on Get OTP
3. You’ll receive an OTP at the number you mentioned.
4. Once you have entered, click on the Verify button.
5. The Registration for Vaccination will appear soon after.
6. Enter all the mandatory details. You’ll have to add your Photo ID proof and related details. Id proofs can be-
● PAN card
● Voter ID
● Smart card issued by RGI
● Health Insurance Smart Card
● Passbooks issued by Banks/Post Office
● Service Identity Card issued to employees
If you have any comorbidities, you’ll have to click on 'yes' and if not then 'no'.
(You’ll have to carry medical certificate in case of comorbidities when you go to get yourself vaccinated)
7. On successful registration, a message will be sent on your registered number.
8. The next step would be to choose a centre and make an appointment by selecting a date whichever suits you. Unaware of centres near you? Select your city from the list and find a covid vaccine centre near to your locality.

Another easy way of Covid Vaccine Registration is through the “Aarogya Setu” app. If you can recall, this was the first app launched by the government during the pandemic for public welfare. Let’s see how we can register using it.
1. Make sure you have the Aarogya Setu App installed in your mobile device.
2. You’ll have to login using a valid mobile number.
3. Now you’ll see the “Co-WIN” tab on the screen. Tap on it.
4. There will be four options-
a. Vaccination information,
b. Vaccination
c. Vaccination certificate
d. Vaccination dashboard
Tap option b i.e. Vaccination
5. Enter your phone number.
6. Enter the OTP received on the same number.
7. Tap on Verify
8. The Registration for Vaccination will appear soon after.

If you are above 45 years but with comorbidity , you will be asked to submit proof of it in order to be eligible.
10. Choose a vaccination centre near you.
11. Select the date.
12. Your appointment should get confirmed and you’ll receive an SMS after that. Don’t miss your visit, keep a track of your details.
You may directly visit the vaccination centre and get yourselves registered. All you have to do is carry documents along.

Yes it is mandatory to carry the document you have mentioned while registration.
2. How many appointments can be made from one phone?
Four appointments can be made from a single phone, a person necessarily doesn’t need to have his/her own smartphone for that.
3. How to take an appointment for a second dose of COVID-19 vaccine?
After getting the first dose, the appointment for the second shot will get scheduled automatically.
4. What is the registration fee?
There is no registration fee. You only have to pay for the vaccine in a private facility i.e. Rs. 250 (Free in government facilities)
5. How many comorbidities have been specified by the government?
20 comorbidities that include severe respiratory diseases, heart- related diseases, diabetes and many more.
