Follow these numbers: Five fruits and veggies combined every day. Ten nutrition foods every week (apart from the five fruits and veggies). 25 minutes of aerobic activity like walking and climbing stairs every day. Wait for 50 minutes for that tea, coffee, juice, drink after a meal. So, 5, 10, 25, 50. Easy to remember?

Get your kids to eat low-fat: After the age of two, they need to develop a taste for low-fat that will keep their arteries unclogged later in life.

Banish bad moods: Make a rule with friends and family that no one will mope. Listen to music. A happy mind keeps the switches off.

Control weight: Over 20% of urban Indian kids are overweight, with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, cholesterol and heart disease. Remember, whether you have a family history or not, the switch will remain off if you eat healthy and keep your weight under control.
